Sensei
Mounting Accessory
1. Download the Cuby App

2. Registrate
- Open the Cuby App.
- If you don't have a user account, create a new one using your email.
- Log in with your username (email) and password.
3. Download the Cuby App
- Within the Cuby app, click on the menu in the top left corner and select the option “+ Add Cuby.
- Select Cuby Sensei and follow the instructions.
- Connect the power adapter to the electrical outlet and the micro USB end to the Sensei.
- Follow the steps in the app and wait for the app to find your Sensei. It should take no more than 1 minute to locate it.
- If the app does not find the Sensei, make sure that Bluetooth and Location are enabled on your phone.
If, after several attempts, the Sensei is still not found, restart your phone and try again. -
Once your phone detects the Sensei, it will prompt you to name it. Choose a name that identifies where the Sensei will be installed.
Do not use the following words in the name, as they can cause issues when using virtual assistants like Alexa and Google Home:- “Air”
- “Air Conditioner”
- “Climate”
Using the words “Air” or “Air Conditioner” may lead assistants to interpret your command as requesting cooling mode or air conditioning mode, which could prevent the command from working correctly.
- Wait for the Sensei to display the available networks. It may take up to 30 seconds to show the list.
- Select your WiFi network from the list that appears. Remember, you can also manually enter the network name and password.
- Once you have selected the network you want your Sensei to connect to, enter the password and press Next.
- Wait while your Sensei connects to the WiFi network. This step should take no more than 1 minute.
- Done! You have successfully added your Sensei. You can verify this by checking the green indicator.
- The next step is to configure the infrared protocol so the Sensei can control the air conditioner.
4. Set Up the AC
- Make sure your air conditioner is turned off.
- Take the Sensei and point it at your air conditioner from a distance of less than 3 meters.
- Sensei will test different protocols by sending one infrared signal at a time. During the process, you will be asked if the air conditioner turned on or made a "Beep" sound. Tap Yes or No as appropriate.
- Once the air conditioner beeps or turns on, press Yes so the app displays the extended control. Test some of the functions shown in the app. Then tap Works if the A/C seems to operate correctly. If the temperature is incorrect (shows a degree offset), you can press the option Doesn’t Work to try other protocols.
- Your Sensei should now be fully functional, and you can control the A/C as usual.
5. Placement and Mounting
The placement of the Sensei is crucial, as poor positioning may result in command loss. While the infrared power is stronger than that of a traditional remote control, it is important to find the ideal placement.
Wall Mounting
Another way to install the Sensei is by attaching it to a wall using the included mounting accessory. The mounting accessory can be fixed with adhesive (such as No More Nails or similar) or secured with 1 or 2 screws.
Use the Mounting Accessory to mark the drilling points.
Drill and insert the wall anchors.
Screw the mounting accessory to the wall.
Place the Sensei on the mounting accessory. A bit of force is required to make it click into place.
6. Sensor Calibration
- The sensor must be calibrated outdoors, as it requires a clean air source.
- Avoid placing it near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
- Press the button on the back of the Sensei. The indicator LEDs will light up one by one with each press. Once all 6 LEDs are lit, the light will start rotating.
- Wait at least 5 minutes for the Sensor to calibrate.
