Why does my gas detector show a percentage but not trigger the alarm?
For users of Cuby Protect and Cuby Helios
What does the gas percentage in the app mean?
The percentage does not indicate how much gas is in the air. It is a progress bar toward the alert threshold you configured, based on the LEL (Lower Explosive Limit).
The alarm triggers when it reaches 100% of your configured threshold and stays there for at least 20 seconds.
What to do based on what you see in the app
| App shows | Recommended action |
| Less than 50% | Monitor only |
| 50 – 80% | Consider ventilating the space |
| More than 80% | Ventilate and locate the source |
| 100% | Alarm sounds — act according to protocol |
Important
If the percentage stays constant without dropping, even if it hasn't reached 100%, ventilate and check immediately. It may indicate an active leak.
If you smell gas, don't wait for the alarm. Ventilate, shut off the valve, and move away from the area.
